Hand it to Michael Dowell, he sure knows how to make the most of a holiday.
Dowell, a three-star defensive back from St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio, decided to announce his intentions to become a Spartan today. He did so in a video featuring two faces MSU fans probably recognize.

If his last name sounded familiar, now you know why. Michael’s brothers, twins Andrew and David, just completed their sophomore and redshirt freshman campaigns in East Lansing.
Dowell had an array of solid offers including Iowa, Minnesota, Ole Miss and Pitt, but decided to join his brothers and continue to add to the trend of “brotherly love” in East Lansing. The Dowell’s join the Allen’s (Jack, Brian and Matt), Bullough’s (Max, Riley, Byron), and the Panasiuk’s (Matt and Jacub) as families that have sent multiple sons to play for the Spartans during Mark Datonio’s tenure.
Dowell also makes it six commitments in the class of 2017 including four from the state of Ohio. Michigan State has cast a wider recruiting net of late, but the staff’s emphasis on the state of Ohio seems to be renewed.
The commitment video shows some of his best highlights, but if you want more you can check them out below.
Welcome aboard, Michael!
