After a disastrous 2016 season, the Michigan State Spartans are expected to have a bounceback 2017 campaign.

There’s plenty of reasons to believe the Spartans will rebound from last year and even exceed their projected total in 2017. A season removed from winning the Big Ten title and playing in the College Football Playoff, the Spartans struggled en route to a 3-9 season in 2016.

That marked the first time in head coach Mark Dantonio's 10 years in East Lansing that Michigan State finished with fewer than six wins and just the second time one of his Michigan State teams finished with a record of .500 or worse.

Speaking of six, the latest odds released by Bovada have the Spartans’ win total set at 6.5 with oddsmakers slightly leaning towards the under:

2017 Regular Season Wins via Bovada: Michigan State Spartans

Over 6½ (+160, 8/5)

Under 6½ (-200, 1/2)

Looking at the schedule, it’s fairly easy to find six wins from the likes of Bowling Green, Western Michigan, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Maryland, Indiana, Iowa and Northwestern. Getting six victories from that bunch is very feasible.
