The Michigan State Spartans and Michigan Wolverines have played each other more than 100 times, but we will have a series first in 2017.

The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. under the lights at he Big House in Ann Arbor, marking the first time ever the two teams will play in prime time.

It had been speculated for a while that the in-state rivals would have a prime-time start, but the word is now official.

The Spartans are 2-1, coming off of a loss to Notre Dame and have Iowa next up on the docket. The Wolverines are 4-0 and coming off of a win against Purdue. Michigan has a bye week to prepare for the Spartans.

Last year, Michigan defeated Michigan State 32-23 in East Lansing, but Michigan State has won seven of the last nine, including three of the last four in Ann Arbor.

Let us never forget what happened the last time these two schools played in Ann Arbor.
