Michigan State Spartans vs Michigan Wolverines Game Thread

The Spartans and Wolverines face off in their only regular-season matchup this year.

The Michigan State Spartans are back in action, as the Michigan Wolverines come to the Breslin Center for a rivalry clash.

The Spartans are looking to get back on track after struggling in their last two games — a blowout loss to Ohio State and an overtime win at home over Rutgers. For now, we’re just chalking it up to being a little in-season slump that hopefully doesn’t mean anything come tournament time.

This will be the 180th meeting between Michigan State and Michigan. The Wolverines lead the all-time series, 98-81, but the Spartans own a 49-37 advantage in games played in East Lansing.

Michigan State has also dominated the series in recent years. They have won 25 of the last 35 games overall. Tom Izzo is 25-15 in his career against the Wolverines, including a 15-4 record at the Breslin Center.

The game will air live on FOX, with Gus Johnson calling the play-by-play, Jim Jackson serving as the color analyst and Lisa Byington on sidelines.
