Good news: there is Michigan State Spartans basketball tonight as the squad takes on the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks at the Breslin Center at 7 p.m. EST. This game is technically Michigan State’s first game in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational.
Bad news: The game is only being broadcast on Big Ten Network Plus, so if you don’t pay for that subscription, you’ll have a hard time watching the game.
But we are here to please, so we have created a game thread for those of you crazy enough to have actually purchased the network, or for those of you listening to the radio call, or perhaps if you stumble into a bar that happens to have it. As usual, use this pace to comment on the game, or even keep up with what’s happening if in fact you can’t watch it.
MSU is coming off of a 106-82 blowout victory over the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles. The team currently sits at 1-1 here in the early going. I am not going to pretend to know a whole lot about Warhawks basketball, but I can tell you the team is currently 2-1 with victories over Jackson State and some school called Millsaps, with just a 10-point loss to Texas.
This is the third all-time meeting between the two schools, with the last meeting coming during the 2007-2008 season, and the first meeting coming in 1998-1999. Michigan State won both of the previous contests easily.
