The No. 9 Michigan State Spartans look to bounce back following an overtime loss to the Louisville Cardinals, as the team travels to Piscataway, New Jersey to take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights tonight at 6 p.m. (Big Ten Network).
Rutgers is coming off of a big win against Miami (FL) in the Big Ten/ACC challenge, which improved the Scarlet Knights to 5-1 overall this season. Geo Baker led the charge with 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while Peter Kiss added 12 points and Eugene Omoruyi scored 11. This is a scrappy team that puts up a fight — which we saw last season.
MSU had its five-game winning streak snapped by Louisville in the last outing. The Spartans were riding high after taking home the trophy in the Las Vegas Invitational with two big wins over UCLA and Texas.
This is the first Big Ten Conference game of the year for the Spartans, as well as Rutgers, so a win here will be key. Let’s hope this game is not as frustrating as the football game between these two programs.
Here is your game thread. Enjoy.
Go Green!
While I do not have the knowledge to give you a full, in-depth game preview as TilltheBitterEnd would normally do, I can recap some of the basketball content from the week:
