Unfortunately, the Michigan State Spartans will not be competing in the Big Ten Championship game this season. However, since many of us are fans of Big Ten football, and you’ll probably be watching, so here is a game thread for the title game...if you’re interested. The game kicks off in Indianapolis at 8 p.m. EST.
Representing the Big Ten West division — one of the big surprises this season — is the Northwestern Wildcats (8-4, 8-1 in Big Ten). Representing the much tougher Big Ten East, in a surprise to nobody, is the Ohio State Buckeyes (11-1, 8-1 in Big Ten).
Ohio State’s College Football Playoff hopes are still alive with a win, but even a win does’t guarantee a spot — especially with Oklahoma winning earlier against Texas. Meanwhile, Northwestern would like to end any shot the Buckeyes have, while winning its first ever Big Ten Championship game (in its first appearance), and first conference crown of any kind since 2000.
Nothing too fancy here, just a platform for you all to chat with each other about the game.
I’ll take Ohio State, with a score of something like 34-17. Who are you taking?
