Game Thread: Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Michigan State Spartans Basketball

NCAA Basketball: Michigan State at Iowa Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

We have some Michigan State Spartans basketball on a Monday night, as No. 10 MSU takes on the No. 18 Iowa Hawkeyes at the Breslin Center at 6:30 p.m. EST on FS1.

This is the first home game for the Spartans since defeating (demolishing) Tennessee Tech on Nov. 18. Michigan State is coming off of a road victory against Rutgers on Friday night, which gave the team its first Big Ten win in its only attempt thus far of the 2018-2019 season, and improved the team to 6-2 overall.

Iowa will look to bounce back from its first loss of the season. The Hawkeyes dropped their first Big Ten matchup of the year to Wisconsin this past Friday. Iowa started 6-0, however, which included wins against Oregon, Pittsburgh and Connecticut.

Tonight’s contest will be Michigan State’s final Big Ten game of 2018, as the Spartans will pick up conference play on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019 against Northwestern. MSU will play four non-conference games prior to that, including Saturday’s big tilt with Florida.
