Michigan State Spartans vs Northwestern Wildcats Game Thread

Go Green!

NCAA Basketball: Michigan State at Minnesota Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

The Michigan State Spartans are back in action today as they face the Northwestern Wildcats.

Thanks to losses by Purdue and Ohio State this week, Michigan State is in complete control of its destiny. Keep winning, and the Spartans should not only win the Big Ten regular-season title, but they should be able to earn a 1 or 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

However, the upset-minded Wildcats would look to derail those plans while also keeping their postseason hopes alive. Northwestern enters today at 15-12 overall and 6-8 in league play. They have some quality wins, but they’ll need to win out to make the Big Dance.

Michigan State enters the game ranked No. 2 in the Associated Press poll and No. 1 in the USA Today Coaches poll. They have won nine-straight games and are 25-3 overall and 13-2 in Big Ten play.

The game will be shown live on FOX, with Gus Johnson calling the play-by-play, Steve Lavin serving as the color analyst and Lisa Byington on sidelines.
