Were you there for the 2015 Elite Eight? If so, let’s talk

Michigan State fans have seen some amazing moments over the last 20 years or so, especially in the NCAA Tournament. Among the best of the best was the 2015 Elite Eight win over Louisville.

The game, which saw MSU win 76-70 in overtime after 11 lead changes, is one of a handful of games getting a second look from SB Nation’s parent company, Vox Media. So...our grandparent company?

Michigan State’s win is one of three games over the last three seasons getting attention from Vox, which hopes to find fans who attended the game. Spartans who were in attendance for the win and live roughly within an hour of New York City could be a part of the project. The person or people selected would be part of a video on the experience and would be compensated for their time.

The Spartans entered the 2015 NCAA Tournament as a 7-seed. After beating the 2 and 3-seed, Virginia and Oklahoma respectively, MSU returned to the Elite Eight where they had lost the year before.

Led by Travis Trice, Michigan State erased an eight-point halftime deficit. Unfortunately, MSU blew a late lead of their own and went to overtime tied 65-65. But overtime was all green. The game was put on ice after a Branden Dawson put-back layup, followed by a Denzel Valentine steal leading to a pair of Trice free throws.

Trice finished the game with a team-high 17 points, Valentine had 15 and Dawson had nine. Coming off the bench, Bryn Forbes contributed 14 points of his own.

Tom Izzo described the Elite Eight win as the best of his seven regional-final wins. He also admitted to having his doubts about that team at various points throughout the 2014-15 season.

Fans who fit the description and are interested in taking part in the project can email college@sbnation.com. Vox is looking to record the video on February 19.
