Ha, and you thought the 2018 class was over! Wrong!
Good news came through the Twitter feed Monday night as Dashaun Mallory, a 3-star defensive tackle out of Illinois, had this to say...
Due to my academic progress, Coach Dantonio has accepted my verbal commitment to Michigan State!Dreams DO come true! Signing tomorrow !! #BeastLansing #Green18 pic.twitter.com/RuLH1RIZ5v

Simply put, this is big news for the Spartans who could use some depth at defensive tackle. Mallory is the only defensive tackle that will be signed to the 2018 class, and he joins defensive ends Parks Gissinger and brothers Zachary and Jacob Slade to make it a quartet of defensive line commits.
Mallory — who stands at 6-foot-3, 260 pounds — was considered a MSU lean for a bit of time but was unable to sign on signing day due to academics. It looks like he cranked his book game up to 100 and will fulfill his dream of becoming a Spartan.
That makes 22 total commits for the 2018 class, and he’ll be the lone man from Illinois coming in.
