The Only Debate: Where do you want to see Jackson, Bridges get drafted?

Just a little mid-week banter before the NBA Draft

Let’s cut to the chase – we want you to be selfish.

We don’t want you to guess where exactly the two Spartans will go in the NBA Draft on Thursday. We want to hear where you want them to go, whether it be personal rooting interest, getting to watch them succeed early or whatever your reasoning.

Jaren Jackson

Despite the haterz telling you Tom Izzo can’t develop NBA talent, Jaren Jackson is a near-lock for the top five on Thursday.

But, but, but, he was talented enough to be a top five pick anyway! Regardless of who the coach was since he was a top 15 recruit!

Really? Tell that to other top 15 players like Brandon McCoy, Trevon Duval, Jarred Vanderbilt and Hamidou Diallo that are all projected to go in the second round.

(Alright, that’s enough ranting. Focus here.)

Let’s assume Jackson isn’t falling beyond pick No. 5 – where would you want him to land? The options – barring a trade – would be Phoenix, Sacramento, Atlanta, Memphis and Dallas. Where would you want to see him land?

My unsolicited two cents: None of these options are ideal. I mean, duh. These teams are in the bottom five for a reason. Sacramento has a young core, but I would never wish Jaren go to an organization like that. I wouldn’t hate to see Jackson go at No. 5 to Dallas and play with Dennis Smith Jr., Harrison Barnes and the last days of good ol’ Dirk.

Miles Bridges

Miles, Miles, Miles. Where on earth are you going, man?

Bridges is by far the tougher of the two to predict as he can realistically go anywhere from pick No. 7 to pick No. 20.

Right now NBADraft.net and Sports Illustrated has him going at No. 15 to Washington. NBA.com and CBSSports.com has him going at No. 14 to Denver. SBNation has him going all the way up at No. 7 to the Chicago Fighting Denzel Valentines.

He could always go elsewhere. Like Cleveland. Or New York. Or Philly. Or Charlotte. Or the LA Clippers. Or Phoenix at No. 16. Or Milwaukee. Or anywhere beyond No. 17, really.

So, where do you want to see him go?

My unsolicited two cents: Either Denver or Chicago so we can see them play alongside former Spartans. Whoever has two Spartans, I’m a bandwagon fan until the Pistons can figure life out in Detroit.
