Fletcher, who is the highest-rated defensive end in Michigan, is the 14th commit in MSU’s strong 2019 class. He ranks as No. 394 nationally in the 247Sports Composite, as well as No. 25 amongst all defensive ends in the country and No. 11 in his home state.
Offers were plentiful for Fletcher, who had his choice of big-name programs. He fielded 23 total offers, including one from national championship game runner-up Georgia. Other than MSU, finalists included defending national champion Alabama, Michigan, Nebraska, Kentucky and Wisconsin, though MLive reports that Fletcher dropped the Badgers from his list earlier.
Fletcher joins Adam Berghorst as the only current defensive line commits. Fletcher and Berghorst are both lengthy athletes that could become a future nightmare pass-rushing duo for the Spartans in the future.
It has been a wild week for Michigan State recruiting. With Fletcher’s verbal commitment, the Spartans have now secured six new recruits this week. Fletcher joins Devontae Dobbs, Tre Mosley, Alante Brown, Ant Williams Jr. and Brandon Wright.
