Two Michigan State Spartans basketball games during the work week? Yes please. The No. 6 Spartans travel down to Iowa City to take on the No. 19 Iowa Hawkeyes at Carver-Hawkeye arena at 7 p.m. on FS1.
The Spartans are rolling right now at 17-2 overall, and are quite frankly a joy to watch. MSU has won 12 games in a row now, and remains undefeated in conference play at 8-0. Iowa is also hot right now, having won five straight games. Since losing to Michigan State on Dec. 3, the Hawkeyes have won 10 of their last 11 contests, and sit at an impressive 16-3 overall.
It was pure domination from the Spartans the first time these two schools matched up. MSU won 90-68 and had four players reach double figures. However, this game may not be as easy as the first time around.
The Spartans had home-court advantage, and Iowa was coming off of a tough loss to Wisconsin. Joshua Langford, who remains out tonight with an ankle injury, contributed 14 points and five assists in the first contest. The Spartans have found ways to win without Langford, though, going 6-0 in his absence. He is still a big loss nonetheless.
