Cody White is off to the NFL.

The junior wide receiver made his announcement on Twitter on Friday, leaving a message to fans, teammates and coaches.

Perhaps this comes as a shock to some people. One thing is for sure though — MSU will have some serious production to replace on that side of the ball. This season White reeled in 66 catches and six touchdowns, tacking on 922 receiving yards on top of that as well.

White had a slew of great games in his three years, most notably his three touchdown and 136 receiving yard game against Rutgers this season.

White is the second MSU player to declare early, joining cornerback Josiah Scott in entering his name into the draft after their junior season.

This also means that MSU will be losing its top three receiving yards leaders with Darrell Stewart (49 catches, 697 yards) and Matt Seybert (26 catches, 284 yards) graduating.

While this is a blow to MSU’s receiving corps, the Spartans do have promising young talent waiting in the bays. Tre Mosley had a strong end to the season, Julian Barnett is a threat should he stay on that side of the ball, Freshman All-American transfer Jayden Reed will be eligible and we will see more of Tre’Von Morgan.
