New jersey alert! The Michigan State Spartans just dropped their new primary home uniform for the 2020-2021 season. This jersey is a bit of a departure from last season’s standard uniform. Here is the first look courtesy of MSU Basketball’s Twitter account:

As you can see, There is an oversized Spartan helmet on the left hip on the shorts. On the right side, there is a 2000-esque graphic design that runs the length of the body from the armpit to the bottom of the shorts. The arms and neck also feature green trim to contrast with the white jersey. The “State” on the front is in MSU’s font they debuted in partnership with Nike back in 2010.
This is a significant departure from last season’s jersey. The front read “Spartans” and was a solid white without the green trim or graphics on the upper jersey. The shorts did feature a thick double-stripe down the side three-quarters of the way with a Spartan logo on both sides adjacent a vent at the bottom. The waist also featured a thick green trump and a bronze/gold accented Spartan logo reminiscent of a belt buckle.
MSU also featured a 2000 throwback alternate jersey, a black road uniform with neon lettering, and a script “State” throwback alternate as well. No word yet on any neon to be featured this season.
UPDATE: The MSU Athletic Department has confirmed to us that these are the new primary home uniforms for the Spartans. However, they plan to also wear a number of alternate uniforms at home this season. As a result, these may be featured less.
CORRECTION: we can confirm these are the primary home uniforms, not alternates, for the 2020-2021 season. However, MSU will still wear other uniform options for certain games. https://t.co/LSz72LcdhG
