Lombardi currently ranks second in the Big Ten with 642 passing yards and is tied with Ohio State’s Justin Fields for the league lead in touchdown passes with six.
His play last week helped the Spartans get by rival Michigan 27-24. Lombardi will get a chance at an encore in his home state of Iowa, as the Spartans travel to face the Hawkeyes Saturday at noon on ESPN.
The Spartans last met Iowa in 2017, which resulted in a 17-10 victory for MSU.
