After the game against the Virginia Cavaliers earlier this week was canceled due to COVID-19 issues within Virginia’s program, The Michigan State Spartans are back on the court today at noon against the Oakland Golden Grizzlies. Oakland makes the roughly 82-mile trek to the Breslin Center. The game can be watched on FS1.

The Golden Grizzlies enter the contest with an 0-6 record against some tough opponents, but are a much better team than their record shows. Tom Izzo recently called Oakland “the best 0-6 team in the history of the world.” Michigan State comes into today’s game with a perfect 5-0 record, which includes wins over Eastern Michigan, Notre Dame, Duke, Detroit Mercy and Western Michigan.

Michigan State is 18-0 all-time against Oakland, with its most recent win coming almost exactly one year ago on Dec. 14, by a final score of 72-49.
