Anyone wonder if Joe Milton is aware of who Antjuan Simmons is now? Simmons has led MSU’s defense all season, and ranks third in the Big Ten with 75 tackles. The 6-foot, 220-pound senior leads MSU with nine tackles for a loss. He also has a sack, two fumble recoveries, two pass breakups, and two quarterback hurries in MSU’s seven games this season. He racked up double-digit tackles in all but one game, a four-tackle performance at Iowa where he played through an undisclosed injury.
Shakur Brown is tied for the national lead with five interceptions, despite only playing seven games this season. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound defensive back started out the season at nickelback against Rutgers before making the move to cornerback after Chris Jackson was hurt. Brown has 25 tackles and four pass breakups while having started in all seven games this season.
Senior defensive end Drew Beesley was also named as an honorable mention by both the coaches and media.
