The news that was (sadly) expected became a reality to end the early signing period.

The top offensive player in Michigan State’s 2021 class is no longer, as four-star running back Audric Estime flipped and signed to Notre Dame after his months-long commitment to Michigan State.

The New Jersey Player of the Year got the Fighting Irish offer three days ago, causing many recruiting experts to flip their prediction from MSU to Notre Dame.

Estime’s stock only increased since he verbally committed to the Spartans back in September thanks to a senior season where he racked up 7.5 yards per carry.

There is no doubt that this one stings. However, the blow is maybe softened by the news of former four-star running back Harold Joiner transferring from Auburn to MSU.

As it stands, three-star running back Davion Primm is the lone running back in this class. With (normal) Signing Day taking place in February, the staff has some time to find another back on the recruiting trail or transfer portal.
