Michigan State Spartans Men’s basketball head coach Tom Izzo spoke with media earlier today. Izzo covered a host of topics, including the deep rotation thus far on the season, sitting the week out despite trying to find an opponent to play, and the upcoming Big Ten season.
Coach Izzo acknowledged the issues with such a deep rotation and the need to pare it down this year. He discussed the impact COVID has on teams, especially with Big Ten 21-day protocols. As a result, he wanted all players to see significant minutes early in the season to be ready, but has said he needs to cut it down moving forward.
Izzo also said he would love to have parents be able to attend games next semester, but is following the guidelines set by medical protocols and understands the reasons they can’t at present.
In addition to Izzo, Aaron Henry and Foster Loyer also spoke with media. You can find the full remarks below.
