A pair of Michigan State defenders earned yet another post-season honor on Tuesday as linebacker Antjuan Simmons and defensive back Shakur Brown were both named to the AP All-Big Ten second team.

Both Brown and Simmons continue to rack up accolades as just last week both players were also named to All-Big Ten defensive teams by both the conference coaches and media. Brown was named to All-Ten first team by the coaches and the second team by the media. Simmons was named to the All-Big second team by the media and the third team by the coaches.

Both players had very productive seasons for the Spartans’ defense. Antjuan Simmons led the team with 75 tackles, nine of which were for a loss. Shakur Brown led the team with five total interceptions, which also happened to be 100 percent of the picks accumulated by the entire MSU defense. Up until the Big Ten Championship Game, Brown was tied for the lead with the most picks in the Big Ten with Northwestern freshman Brandon Joseph.

Unfortunately for Spartan fans, 2020 will be the last year that either player will suit up for the Green and White. Both Simmons and Brown have officially submitted their names for the 2021 NFL Draft. With any luck we will be able to cheer for both players on Sundays in the fall of 2021.
