Tillman entering name in NBA draft, leaves return to MSU as possibility

Will he stay? Or will he go?

NCAA Basketball: Iowa at Michigan State Mike Carter-USA TODAY Sports

Xavier Tillman will be testing the NBA waters.

While he also added he will be keeping his college eligibility, his statement he tweeted out read as if he’s ready to take off. And, really, who could blame him after a great junior campaign that ended with MSU’s third Big Ten title in Tillman’s three years in East Lansing.

The Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year made a name for himself either containing or flat-out shutting down some of the best big men in the conference. Tillman wasn’t just great at being able to defend on all areas of the floor, but he had a strong showing on the glass with 10.2 rebounds per game and added 13.7 points per game as well as a junior.

Right now Tillman is slated on mock drafts from anywhere in the early 20s to early-mid second round. Closing his season out the way he did certainly didn’t hurt is stock before what is about to be a very unique draft process considering the global circumstances.
