3-star RB Primm goes green, commits to MSU

Tucker has landed his first commit at MSU

If you need some barstool trivia, here’s a good one.

Who was the first commit under Mel Tucker at MSU? Look no further than Oak Park’s Davion Primm.

Not even 24 hours after he tweeted out his scholarship offer, Primm pledged his commitment to MSU on Tuesday night. The three-star running back is the No. 86 running back recruit in the nation and the No. 31-ranked prospect in Michigan, per 247Sports composite.

This is the first commit in what can be summed up simply as a bizarre recruiting period on a few levels. Not only did Mel Tucker get a later start than preferred as he was hired in February, but the entire world has seemingly shut down three weeks into his tenure. With no campus visits allowed and a short amount of time to build relationships, that makes for a tough sell for a first year head coach.

Regardless, Tucker has got his first guy for the 2021 class. One down, many more to go for what could be an exciting class.
