Marvel week continues here at The Only Colors and SBNation. Thus today brings us to our basketball comparison now that we have finished our Mark Dantonio greatest win series part 1 and part 2. For today’s comparison we are looking at basketball players from the 2010’s if they were a member of the Avengers (and a few larger cast additions beyond the strict list).
Iron Man/Cassius Winston
Incredibly smart, a leader, and in Winston’s case an iron will even when playing through fatigue and injury late in his junior season.

Thor/Denzel Valentine
Denzel would drop a hammer down at key moments.

Captain America/Tum Tum
Natural leaders, and Tum Tum could play defense like he was a vibranium.
The Hulk/Nick Ward
Ward would smash the glass at times harder than the Hulk smashes his enemies.

Black Widow/Brandon Dawson
Dawson was almost like an assassin during his peak playing moments, just like Black Widow.
Hawkeye/Bryn Forbes
Two elite shooters.

Black Panther/Gary Harris
Both only have brief stand alone credits to their name, T’Challa one stand alone movie so far and Harris just the two years at MSU. However, both made sure that their limited credits thus far counted big time.
Spider-Man/Matt McQuaid
Baby face McQuaid and Peter Parker. Besides, McQuaid plays defense as sticky as Spider-Man’s web.

Doctor Strange/Miles Bridges
Doctor Stange may perform magic in battles, but Bridges performs magic at the rim.

Ant-Man/Steven Izzo
Not the biggest presence on the court or on the screen (pun intended obviously), but their personalities and lovable characters are all the presence we need.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/19955276/Steven.jpg)
Falcon (Sam Wilson)/Kalin Lucas
Lucas could fly down the court like Falcon can soar through the air.
Vision/Tom Izzo
So not all of these are players in the end.
Scarlet Witch (Wanda)/Deyonta Davis
This one is a bit mean-spirited. Wanda is a witch and Davis was mistaken into thinking he was ready for the NBA after one year.
Bucky/Josh Langford
Bucky is a rapid and elite shooter when healthy, and same goes for Langford.

Loki/Korie Lucious
Had some clutch moments (Maryland in the NCAA anyone?), but he wasn’t anybody you could rely on sadly.
Quill (Star-Lord)/Jack Hoiberg
I honestly do not know why, but I think Quill and Hoiberg comes to mind making this one just seem like a fit.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/19955283/1198877834.jpg.jpg)
Gamora/Matt Costello
This one is a bit of a reach. Costello’s Hyper Elite neon jersey Izzo hug was basically just as green as Gamora is as an alien, so that’s pretty much the reasoning here.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/19955282/506489828.jpg.jpg)
Drax/Adrian Payne
Drax is a destroyer, and Payne destroyed opponents down low.
Rocket Raccoon/Draymond Green
Rocket and Day Day are the biggest trash talkers around.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/19955284/1209167163.jpg.jpg)
Groot/Jaren Jackson Junior
Groot could probably block more shots than JJJ could, but since we will never know JJJ gets the edge for now.
Mantis (alien feelers person)/Dwayne Stephens
The Izzo whisperer so to speak.
Nebula/Kenny Goins
Nebula was essentially a walk-on member of the Guardians. Goins had to wear a mask for a good chunk of his career
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/19955285/1140222635.jpg.jpg)
Okoye/Travis Walton
Both are tenacious defenders, Okoye of the king and Walton on the defensive end.
Captain Marvel/Aaron Henry
Captain Marvel and Aaron Henry spend time getting lost in their own heads (Capt. Marvel due more so to Kree brain washing of course). However, when they can overcome that they are some of the most dominant people in their respective roles on the court and near impossible to stop.

Who would you have paired?
