Following the team’s previous postponement of yesterday’s game at Illinois, the Michigan State women’s basketball team has announced the game scheduled in Ann Arbor Monday against the Spartans’ arch rival has also been postponed.
This now marks the third conference game MSU has had postponed this season, and this is the second postponement in a five-day period. It was also released by the MSU athletic department shortly before the postponement announcement that there were eight positive COVID-19 results among 223 tests administered to athletes along with one positive COVID-19 test among 60 staff tests from Jan. 7-13.
There has been no decision made about future games on the schedule for the MSU women’s team and none will be made until next week.

The athletic department released the following statement:
EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State’s women’s basketball game at Michigan on Jan. 18 has been postponed following COVID-19 related issues within the Spartan program. No decision has been made on games beyond Jan. 18. Both schools will work with the Big Ten Conference office to identify potential rescheduling options later this season.
