After an injury-shortened redshirt senior season, center Matt Allen is coming back in 2021, according to Michigan State Spartans head coach Mel Tucker.
The super-duper senior offensive lineman will be back in the green and white for a sixth season, bolstering an already experienced offensive line.
Tucker said center Matt Allen will be coming back for a sixth year after an injury-shortened 2020. Tucker said Allen has become one of his favorite players.

Allen started the season at center against Rutgers, but was knocked out of the following six games due to injury. He was also a starter in nine games his junior season, but also missed the other four games due to injury as well.
The Spartans offensive line hasn’t graduated any players on its starting lineup, and Allen will obviously be another guy to add experience to that group. Whether or not he wins a starting job over interior linemen Blake Bueter, Matt Carrick, JD Duplain or Nick Samac, he will be a nice piece to have back due to his experience level and leadership.
