The long awaited rivalry game in The Mitten is finally set for a kickoff and network time. In what looks to be the first top-10 matchup in the series since 1964, the contest will be the premier game of the week on FOX next Saturday, Oct. 30.

The No. 6/7 Michigan Wolverines, making the team’s first trip to East Lansing since the 2018 pregame confrontation, will be playing against the No. 7/9 Michigan State Spartans at noon on FOX. The Big Noon Kickoff designation goes to the network’s top matchup of the week, and these game designations consistently rank as some of the most watched each season.
The Spartans will be off this week prior to the matchup, keeping a 7-0 record intact prior to the game. Michigan (6-0) will face Northwestern this Saturday in Ann Arbor, hoping to stay undefeated as well prior to the rivalry game.
The Spartans have had Michigan’s number over the last decade and a half. MSU is 9-4 since the 2008 matchup. Mel Tucker became the first head coach in the rivalry since Nick Saban to beat the Wolverines on the first try, and just the third all-time in the series. Michigan will naturally be looking for vengeance, but Michigan State will be hoping to keep momentum of its own going, as the Wolverines visit “The Woodshed” for another Halloween weekend special.
