The Michigan State Spartans travel to Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, Nov. 20 to take on the Buckeyes. On Monday, the kickoff time was announced for noon Eastern Time. The game will broadcast on ABC.
If Michigan State is able to beat Maryland Terrapins at home this Saturday, the game a week later against Ohio State is going to have massive implications on the Big Ten East race, as MSU still controls its own destiny despite last week’s loss to the Purdue Boilermakers. The Buckeyes are currently the only undefeated team in Big Ten Conference play (6-0) and if Ohio State wins the remainder of its games — starting this Saturday with the same Purdue team that just upset Michigan State — will win the Big Ten East. MSU’s only path to the Big Ten Championship game is to win its last three games.
Both Michigan State and Ohio State are 8-1 overall this season, as the Buckeyes suffered a non-conference loss to the Oregon Ducks on Sept. 11. The Buckeyes have the all-time series lead over the Spartans 34-15. MSU’s last victory over OSU was in 2015 — and the Spartans advanced to the College Football Playoff that year.
Before Michigan State can focus on Ohio State, the Spartans must defeat Maryland, and bounce back from last week’s road loss to Purdue. That game kicks off at 4 p.m. in East Lansing on Saturday and can be watched on FOX.
Michigan State Men’s Basketball schedule update:
In addition to the football game in Columbus on the same day, the Michigan State men’s basketball program also announced a schedule update. The Spartans will take on the Eastern Michigan Eagles at 5 p.m. on Nov. 20 — a strategically placed tip-off time for when the football game will likely be over. The game can be viewed on Big Ten+, which requires a subscription.
