This NSD splash by Mel Tucker & @CoachHawk_5 gives the Spartans an elite WR for their 2021 class.@keoncoleman6 also gives Tom Izzo a legit dual-sport walk-on, one who he helped recruit.
Four-star wide receiver Keon Coleman committed to the green and white after a lengthy recruiting battle against suitors like Texas, USC, Houston, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, Tulane and others.
The 6-foot-4 wide receiver will add some much-needed height to MSU’s already-talented receiver corps. His frame and speed could allow him to be an instant impact guy should he breakthrough a somewhat crowded depth chart early on.
Coleman marks the second four-star commit for the 2021 class, joining linebacker Ma’a Gaoteote. Also, as a fun little note, Coleman is the first 247Sports four-star wide receiver commit since Hunter Rison in 2017. While 247Sports ranks him as a four-star in its individual rankings, he is listed as a three-star in the Composite rankings.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Coleman is the No. 62 wide receiver recruit in the 2021 class, as well as the No. 12 prospect in Louisiana and No. 378 player nationally. Rivals lists him as the No. 60 wide receiver in the 2021 class, and No. 18 player in Louisiana.

The offers list was insane for Coleman, who pretty much had his pick of whichever school he wanted to for football. He held offers from Georgia, Auburn, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Baylor, TCU, Florida State, Miami (FL.), Virginia, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Syracuse, Penn State, Indiana, USC, Arizona and many others.
Coleman will also look to star on the basketball team as well as he’s been lighting it up on the court to the tune of 33 points per game for at Opelousas Catholic.
