The heir apparent to the Matt Coghlin era could be here.

Five-star kicking prospect Jack Stone committed to the Michigan State Spartans on Tuesday, sharing the great news on Twitter.

The highly-acclaimed Kohl’s Kicking has Stone tabbed as the No. 21-ranked kicking prospect in the country. Here’s what Kohl’s had to say about Stone in its write-up based off his showing in a camp back in May.

“Stone attended Kohl’s Texas Showcase in May of 2021. He has done well at multiple Kohl’s events and showed continued growth in May of 2021. Stone showed elite-level leg strength on his kickoffs and field goals at these events. Stone has tremendous power in his hips and he was impressive with his ball-striking throughout the events.”

Chris Sailer Kicking also has Stone listed as a five-star out of six possible stars, which the website describes as a “FBS Freshman Starter” projection.

Stone, who kicks for Highland Park High School in Texas, also visited Old Dominion, LSU and Cal earlier this month to go along with his visit to East Lansing over the weekend of June 7.

Stone was offered a scholarship by the Spartans. Michigan State’s 2022 class is now up to 10 commitments.
